Sheet music FAQs
Is it possible to make your own sheet music?
To make your own sheet music all you need is a pencil, a musical idea,
and some blank staff paper. In fact, you do not even have to buy the
paper. Some Internet sites that sell sheet music allow you to download
the paper for free in order to attract traffic. Once you’ve written
down your ideas show them to other band members or to a teacher for
revision.
How do I take care of sheet music?
Like any paper product sheet music is subject to wear and tear.
Try to keep liquids and foods away from it. Of course, this may go against
the rock and rollers better instincts.
Can sheet music be preserved?
Over time paper products fade and decay because of the acid in their
composition and because of the exposure to harmful sunrays. This takes
years to occur so for most users of sheet music it is not a concern.
However, if you are writing your own compositions or have purchased
a rare piece, use archival quality paper or preservation materials to
prevent wear and tear.
